London Collections: Men

The past few days my Instagram and Twitter feeds have been bombarded with updates from the London Collections: Men. I'm definitely NOT complaining. It has been rather pleasant seeing dapper men in beautifully designed garments splashed across my Iphone and Mac. Such a rarity.

I'm going to share a few of my favourite pieces with you all. The images you see below have been taken from VOGUE'S website.

Lets start with Hackett London. I'm a sucker for tartan and Hackett have definitely pulled it out the bag...

What do you think? I can't express to you enough how happy I am that tartan is staying with us for Autumn/Winter 13/14!

Start embracing the tartan boys!

Not only am I in love with this jacket (Hackett London) - hello fur, BUT these pin stripe navy trousers have done it for me. Lets be having more of these please!

Hackett London

The deep orange gloves have also won me over...what a perfect way to brighten up a dull, miserable Winter! Small doses of orange were added throughout and I feel this has helped strengthen the collection; giving it that little bit of vibrance.

Richard Nicoll however decided they wanted to embrace the orange on a whole new level...

What do you think Boys? Will you be supporting the tangoed look next fall?

YMC's collection featured this one piece which I have fallen in love with...

I think its time I update my Pig and Reindeer onsies!

PANELLING...

In my eyes Lou Dalton perfected waist panelling, look at these sharp contrast panels...

'Fix up look sharp'

and yet more panels which have caught my eye...

Jonathan Saunders

The above Jonathan Saunders panelled trousers are AMAZING, If I'm honest with you I would quite like these for myself!

I'm also really feeling this leather/khaki jacket, again I would be quite happy if this was sitting in my wardrobe waiting to be worn!

Mr Start

Mr Start featured some interesting necklines and I love the above double take on turtle slash V. The block sleeves also tie in very nicely, I like!

Now that's a wrap - I said I was going to share 'a few' pieces. As you can see I class 10 as 'a few' - now it's clear to me why I get through SO many biscuits!

I am very much looking forward to what tomorrow has to offer - especially Tom Ford and Christopher Kane!

(and lets hope there will be lots more pictures of David Gandy floating about)

Happy Birthday Penguin

Alice AKA penguin is 23 today!!

It goes a little bit like this...I call Alice Penguin, Peng or Pengy and she calls me Pig or Piggy. A little odd, but to be fair all nicknames are odd!

Pengy has an extreme sweet tooth (like myself) so I was ecstatic to get in the kitchen and whip up a Bruce Bogtrotter! A giant cupcake sprung to my mind, so I whipped out my moulds...

I poured my sponge mixture into the moulds, allowing space for the cakes to rise. The good thing about giant cupcakes is that you need to slice off the top of your sponge so that the top can sit nicely on top. You know what this means right? Cake scraps to munch on!

With a dollop of chocolate fudge icing I throughly enjoyed the scraps. They were NOT going to waste!

With a belly weighed down with calories I was ready to make Bogtrotter gag proud...

The end result...

I would have preferred to write 'Happy Birthday' however you've probably guessed that I ran out of letters! I therefore had to make do with 'HB' - a little blunt but it means the same thing!

The shape does look slightly odd - I must work on this for my next one!

I then needed to make something Pig and Penguin related so I also made cupcakes.

Penguin cupcakes...

This little Piggy went to market...

Excuse the pig cupcake...I'm not an animal lover therefore I am not aware of what features a Pig has! Ooops!

Anyway I carefully drove to Peng's house. I was praying the giant cupcake wouldn't fly off the passenger seat whilst I got a little lost in Rihanna's album!

Armed with presents (and Rose) the cake and I arrived safely...

I put on my leather and fur (oh and obviously my eyelashes) and we headed out for some drinks...

Happy Birthday to my beautiful Penguin...

We woke up to balloons and Peng's mum singing Happy birthday...

We then headed downstairs for a pain au chocolat breakfast with the family and Peng's cute grandparents popped over with more presents - which may I add were wrapped beautifully!

I loved celebrating Penguin's 23rd Birthday with her and more importantly I love the fact that we are growing old together.

HB from your one and only Piggy xx

Enjoy your Sunday roast everyone!

'So Stepford'

I was browsing through my photos on my Mac last night; not only did it alarm me of how many photos I hoard, but it also made me want to share a few of them with you. As I have only recently started blogging I have missed out on a thousand blog opportunities, therefore I think it's only right that I squeeze in a few 'ancient' blogs!

Lets start with a university project...

The main part of the brief involved choosing a fashion brand and creating a new advertising campaign. We had to research Film Noir and Alfred Hitchcock for inspiration, however I liked how we had the freedom to choose any other film which inspired us.

The brand I selected: Kurt Geiger

The film I was inspired by: The Stepford Wives

Inspiration...

Possible props...

and here are some of my final magazine spreads...

I shoot these photographs in my Nan's garden. She loved helping me prep and it was like I had my very own Stepford Wife assisting me!

When we were gasping for a cuppa my Stepford Wife Nan got the kettle straight on and filled the teapot up!

The legs belong to my Mother...fingers crossed I have inherited her 'leg genes' so I TOO can have legs like this in my forties!

Looking back at my photographs, I just wish at the time I had a larger collection of KG shoes to play around with. After all, Kurt Geiger is a shoe retailer and the grey pair I have used are a tad dull (not my idea of attention grabbing). Perhaps it's time I borrow my Mothers legs again, ask my Nan if she is up for some more assistant work, and re shoot using my updated collection of KG shoes!

If you haven't already spent all of your pennies in the January sales, then I insist you check out the Kurt Geiger sale HERE

Cure those January blues in style!

Anyway it's time I head to the kitchen and start baking!

Have a lovely weekend everyone.

Mermaid Mulberry

 What a MEGa MULBalicious day...

Emma Hill and Tim Walker have done it again!

I always look forward to seeing Mulberry's ad campaigns BUT after watching the collection on the livestream back in September...I just knew S/S 13 was going to be extra special!

I am a big worshipper of Tim Walker's photography. He quite often leaves me breathless with his dreamy, romantic, fantasy like images and I'm certain that is why Mulberry use him time and time again.

I'm sure you have all seen the photographs but for those of you who haven't then it's about time you do...

Meghan Collison looking oh so beautiful...

The pastel colours and under the sea background are amazing aren't they? I think Pixar need to release a Finding Nemo/Mulberry movie! We all know it would be the most perfect collaboration - DISNEY & FASHION!

Lime green is going to be in the limelight for Spring/Summer!

Megan, pretty please can I borrow your 'Willow' tote? I promise to return it with the envelope clutch attached!

I NEED a printed suit in my life...however until I win the lottery I will just have to make do with a high street version!

I think the Willow tote is one of my all time favourites, I mean you don't just own one Mulberry bag, you own TWO! What more could you want?

ONE - Willow Tote

Two - Envelope clutch

Right, I'm now going to start choosing my euro million numbers for tomorrow, if you are one of those annoyingly lucky people (I'm definitely not) then please feel free to advice me on what numbers to pick! If I win the jackpot you might be lucky enough to borrow my Willow for the night!

Night all.

Happy New Year!

2013 is YOUR year...do NOT let anything or anyone hold you back.

Let your dreams scare you...but more importantly make them come true.

Go out and accomplish the things that you've always wanted to!

I've got a good feeling for 2013, I'm welcoming the year with my arms wide open. One of my really close friends (Sarah) is pregnant and that means this year I will get to meet 'Beautiful Baby B'. I cannot contain my excitement!

HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYONE!!!

I think these days more and more people are choosing to stay in on NY and that is exactly what I choose to do.
No fuss. No taxi. No club entry.

I celebrated with family, friends and food and I thought I would share some photos with you all. Believe it or not I wasn't very snap happy and I only really captured images of food/drink before the evening really started! You know you've had a good night when your memory card has minimal pics on!

Some vodka Jelly shots...

We washed down a box of Rose in some pretty plastic glasses (the less glass to hoover up the better).

I made bunches of cake pops for us to munch on...

For all the biscuit beasts I put together a biscuit platter...

I made some '2013' and 'NY' cupcakes in my cute little cup and saucer moulds that my 'foodie friend' Hannah kindly gave me...

I filled my new Nandos dish with wedges and I obviously got a little carried away with the hot food as this is the only picture I captured!

We washed the wedges down with some punch...

We had plenty of picky foods to cure the alcohol hunger pains...

CAKE took over the kitchen...

and we covered 'Beautiful Baby B' in confetti at midnight...

So as you can see we ate and drank our way into the new year!

I hope you all had a beautiful evening and you are prepared for what 2013 has to offer!

Once again,

Happy New Year!

Slutty Brownies

Last year The Londoner 's blog post on 'Slutty Brownies' had me drooling. I could almost taste Rosie's gooey little treats. My sweet tooth was screaming at me to turn this 'almost' into a reality. Therefore at top speed, I slipped on my shoes, grabbed my purse and dashed to my local shop. With the ingredients in hand I was good to go...

The brownies were SO easy to make and even easier to wash down with a cuppa! After our dinner party the Slutty Brownies were demolished for dessert AND we warmed them up with ice cream and strawberries for breakfast in the morning (yep we even squeezed in 1 of our 5 a day).

As the SB's (Slutty Brownies) were such a success I decided to whip them up again for this New Years Eve! What a wonderful decision! I mean you've got to start the year off as you mean to go on...

All you need is:

Add the water stated to the cookie mix - I added a little bit extra as I'm a lover of soggy cookies NOT ones which break your teeth!

Squash your cookie dough into your lined tin...

Try not to eat all of the cookie dough and place your Oreos on top...

Add your egg to the brownie mix along with the water and oil as stated on the box...

Now pour your chocolate brownie mix on top of the oreos...

The slutty brownies need to bake for what will seem like the longest 30 minutes of your life!

30, 29, 28, 27, 26, 25......5, 4, 3, 2, 1!

Slutty Brownies eat your heart out...and trust me they WILL get messy!

I tried my best to place these messy little treats neatly on my polka dot cupcake stand. I added some ribbon to make the chocolatey lumps seem that little bit more appealing!

I thoroughly enjoyed the SB's as did my guests. I only have one left so it's a very upsetting moment - however that's a good enough excuse to whip another batch up, right?

Rosie, thank you, in my eyes you are the BROWNIE QUEEN!

Happy New Year everyone!
