Egg-Cellent Eggs

So, my Brother and I got our bake on last night (as you do on a Saturday night). We now have our very own take on an ‘Egg-Cellent Egg’. We have endless easter eggs in our house so we felt it was time to spice things up a little!

Prepare yourself for our DELISH combo…
OREOS with...
REESE'S peanut butter cups...
covered in yet more chocolate to create the fried egg shape!

These Egg-Cellent Eggs are super easy, cheap and fun to make! So, get your Reese's at the ready and let’s have some OREO fun…

What you need to participate in the fun:
(Definitely purchase the double cream Oreos if you can hunt them down.)

Step 1: Remove the top biscuit from your OREO.

Step 2: Place on your Reese's peanut butter cup.

Step 3: Take your second Oreo, break the bottom off and place on top of your PB cup.

Step 4: It's the fun part...get dunking!

Step 5: Place on a baking sheet and cover in more chocolate to create your splattered EGG look!

Step 6: Once dry peel them away from the baking sheet (cut where they have stuck together).

Step 7: There you have it, your Egg-Cellent Egg!

Step 8: Cut open and enjoy (this is one we did without the chocolate fried egg look).

You will have lots of Oreo plain biscuits left (if you haven't munched away on them).

So, get some frosting and don't let these go to waste!

I'm sure they will be equally as yum!

Happy Easter everyone!
Have a lovely day cramming your bellies with chocolate and have fun if you decide to make these cute little Egg-Cellent eggies!

Lots of love,

Blueberry and lemon loaf

I blame the snow for at least 50% of my chocolate consumption over the last few days. It has caused me to take my 'chocolate addict' title to a whole new level. Funny enough, I woke up today in a NON chocolate mood (something which rarely happens). I therefore dashed to the kitchen to whip up something sweet but with ZERO grams of chocolate!

Are you a lover of blueberries?
Do you love indulging in zesty treats?

If so, I suggest you pop to the shop and purchase the following ingredients as this loaf is one for you!

195 grams plain flour
1 teaspoon baking powder
1/4 teaspoon salt
1 tablespoon grated lemon zest(outer yellow skin of the lemon)
240 ml fresh blueberries
113 grams unsalted butter - room temperature
150 grams granulated/caster sugar
2 large eggs
1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
120 ml milk

Lemon Glaze:
2 tablespoons (25 grams)sugar
1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice

I followed the recipe from Joy Of Baking and it even features a step by step video which makes this loaf SO SIMPLE to make! I will also run through the process to ensure you feel comfortable making this loaf which is bursting with blueberries!

First, mix your butter and sugar until your mixture looks like mash potato! I had the urge to pour gravy all over it and throw some meat in the oven (so glad I didn't).

Now add your vanilla extract and your eggs (one at a time).

You will get a curdled looking mixture - do not threat, apparently it is supposed to look like this!

Now get your bowl of flour and remove one tablespoon and pour it over your blueberries (this will reduce the risk of them falling to the bottom of your loaf). Put the blueberries to one side...

For a second I thought it had started to snow indoors!

Next, add your baking powder and salt to your flour and grate your lemon to get all of that juicy zest...

Mix the lemony zest into the flour to ensure your mixture is ZINGING...

It's now time to go back to the curdled mess...add a third of your zinging flour, then a third of your milk, then another third of your flour and so on...

When all of your milk and flour has been mixed in it's time for those delicious blueberries to get involved!

Gently fold them in and then pour your mixture into your greased loaf tin and allow to bake for 55-60 minutes.

Tick Tock, Tick Tock...

At 57 minutes my loaf was finally ready to come out to play (by play I mean get eaten).

On goes the zesty lemon glaze...

To make the glaze simply mix 2 tablespoons of sugar with 1 tablespoon of fresh lemon juice, then pop it in the microwave for 20 seconds - it's that simple!

Now brush it all over your beautiful loaf...

I did say this loaf was bursting with blueberries didn't I?

I can't express enough how happy I am with finding this recipe. It is SO unbelievably moist and SO SO tasty. The citrus lemon flavour compliments the exploding blueberries just perfectly. I recommend serving it warm, straight from the oven, with a cup of tea.

I'm not sure my fruity loaf is even going to see tomorrow. However what I do know is that I'm in desperate need of cutting myself off another slice!
The blueberries are screaming my name...

Have a great Saturday night everyone and when you have the time you MUST make this fruitilicious loaf - you will NOT regret it!

Feed your imagination

If like myself you are completely and utterly drained from the January diet talks, then this post is definitely one for you! From here onwards it's all about the chocolate talk!
Forget the lettuce, forget the green tea, and forget the gym.

I mean I'm NOT trying to promote obesity but please do me a favour and just EAT the chocolate bar if that's what your body is craving (in moderation of course).

We only live ONCE.
Tomorrow is a mystery and we simply don't know what could spring upon us.

Life is TOO short to worry about calories and lbs so let your taste buds run free and embrace your inner chocolate goddess!!!

Today at work my beautiful friend Libby put a massive smile on my face. Can you guess why? Yep, she bought in lots of chocolate for me!
All purchased from the amazing 'Hardy's Original Sweet Shop'

I HAVE to show you these yummy treats as I feel like an excitable little child who has just been told she is off to Disneyland (come on, chocolate is equally as exciting).

Starting with some HEAVENLY HERSHEY'S...

Like one wasn't enough...

Cookies 'n' Chocolate = MY FAV!

Actually, I take that back. I can't choose a favourite! Look at this Roaring Rocky Road slab...

I can't wait to rip this beast open! Apparently 'Gnaw' have 28 flavours to choose from - OH MY! I have therefore decided that one of my aims for 2013 is to get my teeth on the remaining 27.
An aim full of flavour!

Next, I present you with the 'Continental milk chocolate with Honeycomb crunch'...

The packaging says it all...

'Deliciously Different'

I definitely can't see myself disagreeing!

Libby didn't stop there! She treated her chocoholic friend to some Butterfinger Bites which are apparently 'EASY TO EAT'.
I wonder how many seconds minutes these will last me! One thing I do know is that they definitely won't be difficult to eat!

To break up the chocolate taste I've also got some NERDS to munch on. Willy Wonka once said: 'You've got to feed your imagination' and I 100% agree.
Such wise words from Mr Wonka!

As you can see I've got an AMAZING friend who understands that chocolate has to be eaten in style.

If you TOO want to join in on the fun (I don't blame you) then I insist you get yourself down to a Hardy's sweet shop. There are lots in London but do have a quick search to see where your nearest one is as they are expanding! Hardy's are famous for their vintage sweets from the traditional jars (hence why I have displayed my goodies on a vintage ornament).

Follow their twitter page HERE as it's looking a little lonely and I believe it should have 100,000 followers (if not more).

Anyway, I better dash, I've got chocolate to eat and tea to drink!

Thanks Libs (or should I say Mrs Wonka) I couldn't wish for a better work buddy! You've made my Tuesday a tremendous day and I can't wait to suffer a sugar rush the Hardy's way!

Slutty Brownies

Last year The Londoner 's blog post on 'Slutty Brownies' had me drooling. I could almost taste Rosie's gooey little treats. My sweet tooth was screaming at me to turn this 'almost' into a reality. Therefore at top speed, I slipped on my shoes, grabbed my purse and dashed to my local shop. With the ingredients in hand I was good to go...

The brownies were SO easy to make and even easier to wash down with a cuppa! After our dinner party the Slutty Brownies were demolished for dessert AND we warmed them up with ice cream and strawberries for breakfast in the morning (yep we even squeezed in 1 of our 5 a day).

As the SB's (Slutty Brownies) were such a success I decided to whip them up again for this New Years Eve! What a wonderful decision! I mean you've got to start the year off as you mean to go on...

All you need is:

Add the water stated to the cookie mix - I added a little bit extra as I'm a lover of soggy cookies NOT ones which break your teeth!

Squash your cookie dough into your lined tin...

Try not to eat all of the cookie dough and place your Oreos on top...

Add your egg to the brownie mix along with the water and oil as stated on the box...

Now pour your chocolate brownie mix on top of the oreos...

The slutty brownies need to bake for what will seem like the longest 30 minutes of your life!

30, 29, 28, 27, 26, 25......5, 4, 3, 2, 1!

Slutty Brownies eat your heart out...and trust me they WILL get messy!

I tried my best to place these messy little treats neatly on my polka dot cupcake stand. I added some ribbon to make the chocolatey lumps seem that little bit more appealing!

I thoroughly enjoyed the SB's as did my guests. I only have one left so it's a very upsetting moment - however that's a good enough excuse to whip another batch up, right?

Rosie, thank you, in my eyes you are the BROWNIE QUEEN!

Happy New Year everyone!
