Baby Shower

Wow, I really have abandoned my poor little blog and to be quite frank with you all, I have missed nattering away to myself. So guess what...I’m back and this time with even more food pictures(sorry to make you peckish).

Today we held a surprise baby shower for our friend Sarah. As you can imagine I went rather wild with my camera so all I can say is prepare to be bombarded with photos!

We decided on afternoon tea, so out came the bread...

My Sister and I were the A-TEAM making the sarns! Our system was so speedy we may as well have been throwing the bread like a frisbee to one another!

We converted our front room into a little pink tea room (whilst waiting for Nan to arrive with her famous homemade scones and cupcakes).

We had a sweet station...

We made cute pouches for our chocs and sweeties...

Obviously the milk bottles had to come out to play...

Oh let's not forget the strawberry nougat...

Don't say I didn't warn you that this post was going to be crammed with photos...

Our tea station...
Obviously I was chief pourer!

Whoooooo the scones arrived!!!

As did the cupcakes...

All set up and just waiting on one thing...the Mum to be!

Oh what a photo ruiner! Yes, I'm talking about the football! Don't you worry we were quick to switch to 'The Change-Up' film... this definitely was more appropriate for the baby shower!
Goodbye football.

We tucked into sarnies...
(These ones are gluten & wheat free...yes we cater for all at the little pink tea room!).

and black olive straws...

and yet more sugar...

All because Sarah is ready to POP (well not quite!).

With excitement we toasted to Baby B...

We drank and ate, and drank and ate...

I felt a little sick and dizzy - NOT from the champagne but from the birth talk! Hands over ears.

My Sister made some games which we played...

I'm not really a pink lover but I kind of want to keep our house like this forever!

With scented candles...

cupcakes wherever you look...

scones left right and centre...

and sweets within a hand's reach!

But unfortunately that's a wrap and the baby shower sadly comes to an end! BUT, it's not long until we will be oooohhhiingg and aaaahhhinngg over cute little BABY B!!
Cannot contain my excitement!

Anyway, I am finally finished with the pink photos! I hope everyone has had a lovely weekend, jam-packed with lots of laughter I hope?

Lots of love,

(All of the above images are my own.)

A Girl's gotta do what a Girl's gotta do...

Our last Girly dinner evening was back in 2012...

The night was a success. We made homemade PIES (yes I know, such ladies)! We made slutty brownies (Thank you Rosie for the Recipe). We also made garlic bread; mozzarella wrapped in parma ham, mozzarella in breadcrumbs, cupcakes...OH you name it - we made it!

I'm pretty sure you know where I'm going with this? YEP, It was time to dig out that Girly table cloth, invite the Girls round and eat the night away (with another Ladette meal of course).

STACKED BURGERS WITH A SIDE DISH OF HOMEMADE WEDGES.

I strangely enough have minimal photos from the evening. Perhaps I was a tense hungry host? Or perhaps I just so kindly allowed my friends to eat their meals in peace for once?
Don't threat, I still took a few!

Running down the centre of the table we had plates of bacon, lettuce, tomatoes, mozzarella and fried onions. We each had a side dish to cram as many of our homemade (chinese seasoned) wedges into. We had our own stacking stick so we could be as greedy as we wanted with the toppings...

My Sister was on Burger duty...
(Literally mince mixed with egg whites, I never knew burgers were so simple!)

I'm not friends with red meat so I gave Nando's a run for their money and got stuck into a stacked chicken feast! mmmmmmmm.

My little Bro was on onion duty...
(Apparently he's the best in town when it comes to frying onions!)

I made sure to capture his latest purchase in my photograph. My Sister and I have taught him well, he returned home from New York with a brand spanking new Michael Kors watch on his wrist. I wish I was as fashionable as him at 15 years old (I'm pretty sure I was still wearing my Pocahontas watch at 15).

My sister makes it quite obvious that she despises my love affair with taking photos of food. However I ignored her daggers and rather speedily captured her stacking the stilton and (the very best) onions onto her burger!

Aimee, Sarah and Di all bought treats round for the slumber party after (whilst I tucked into my gluten free, wheat free, EVERYTHING FREE treats). I keep telling myself this specific diet is only for 8 weeks, however my symptoms have started to improve. Do NOT tell me I will be shopping in the 'Free From' (or should I say 'cardboard') isle for the rest of my life!

Aimee and I pretended it was Christmas and whacked out the Coffee Baileys like you do...

Cheers to a great night Girls!

Obviously we couldn't leave 'BABY B' out! After finding out 'BABY B' is now a 'GIRL' we wanted to purchase her something beautiful and something pink...

These pretty matching Joules garments scream the word broody even to a Man!

Anyway until next time, cheerio my friends!

Trago Lounge

Do you ever find yourself wondering why on earth does Starbucks not open until midnight?  I definitely DO!

On these ARTIC nights I find myself just needing cosy coffee places to be open after work hours. I’m not asking for too much am I? Well apparently so! When you live in Southampton you should NOT be asking for such thing! Unlike London, Southampton apparently does need sleep. However I was determined to not let this get in the way of myself and a late night pot of tea.

You will be pleased to know my best friend and I found a lovely tranquil cafe/bar in Portswood last night - Trago Lounge. The sofas were SO inviting and extremely snug! From the minute I sunk into the sofa I knew this place was going to become a regular. I was so content - the only thing I was missing was my snuggie (perhaps I’ll bring this next time). Having said that, wouldn’t it be fantastic if you were offered a blanket upon arrival? A hot water bottle and some slippers wouldn’t go a miss either! Anyway, enough side tracking, my best friend (Steph) and I had a FAB evening. You see, Steph has been superglued to her desk the past few months, damn her Masters degree for kidnapping her from me! So, with a few exams down we decided a massive catch up combined with calories was long over due.

It's Instagram O'clock...

Now can you understand why I felt so snuggled?

My dietician advised me to start introducing fish back into my diet, so what a perfect way to start it off...

Fish finger sarnie

She also advised me to NOT eat chips, apparently the skins are hard for me to digest BUT I must have somehow 'accidentally' forgot about this! I promise from this day forward no more CHIPS!
No more chips Kirsty. I repeat NO more chips.

Steph had the pulled pork panini which I think was delish as she actually stopped shouting talking (this rarely happens by the way).

You can check the menu out HERE. As you can see it isn't fine dining, it's all about the comfort eating. I'm going to be honest with you we even ate ours from our laps and the great thing is nobody judged. It really is like your Nan's cosy lounge (well only if you manage to bag yourself a sofa).

Now comes the pot of tea...

oh and obviously we NEEDED puddings...

I indulged in the warm chocolate brownie with ice cream, thankfully chocolate is still on my 'allowed' list! Phewwwwww!

Whilst Steph opted for the sticky toffee pudding...

Feeling all warm inside from our 'T & Puds' we chatted away until realising the place was now practically empty - it was sadly time for us to depart. After all, we've got to remember we don't live in the city that never sleeps!

If like us, you LOVE cosy late night cuppas then check out their website HERE. If you pay them a visit I really do hope you manage to get your paws on a sofa - I advise you to wait at the bar until you do!

So what did I wear?
I've been meaning to pop to Grandads to collect his tripod as I really want to start including outfit photos in my posts. I can then start using my SLR, however until then I leave you with a shabby Iphone pic...

I'm really NOT a fan of 'selfies' but fingers crossed one day I will get more confidence.

So, I wore my new TOPSHOP treggings...

Flock grid ponte treggings - £28.
Click HERE for more info.

I paired the treggings with my little black Radley boots, my sister's black bomber jacket with contrasting panels, my Topshop cross ring and my Michael Kors watch.

Present time...

With more exams and a HEFTY dissertation still to complete I felt like this was the perfect little gift for Steph...

PATIENCE IS A VIRTUE.

Anyway, I had a great evening as you can see and I definitely will be returning. Hhhhmmm I wonder if they allow reservations for the sofas? I'm not too sure I could settle for a normal chair after this relaxing experience!

Have a great day,
